Greg Schanck enters his 6th season with the Vipers and 5th as a Head Coach, all with this core group of players. Coach Greg is a highly accomplished former collegiate baseball player and a seasoned coach with an impressive track record.
He played for Oneonta State from 1996 to 2000, where he excelled as a versatile player, taking on roles as a right fielder (RF), first baseman (1B), and left-handed pitcher (LHP). Greg was named Player of the Year twice and making the All-Conference team four times. He was also a two-time MVP and served as the team captain for two years.
Greg’s name is etched in the history books at Oneonta State as the all-time leader in RBIs. Additionally, he ranks in the top five all-time in several key categories, including batting average, hits, runs, and doubles.
After his illustrious playing career, Greg transitioned into coaching, where he has continued to make an impact, leading this team with the same passion and dedication that marked his playing days.
